During the past 2 weekends I was fortunate enough to be apart of the Carpe Diem show at Loakal in Oakland, CA. I had so much fun creating new artwork amongst so much talent and dope personalities. The gallery was open to the public all 24 hours of the painting day so that people could engage with the artists and observe their creative process. Here is a video taken on March 29th when each artist was given a 4′ X 8′ panel and 24 hours to complete their work. Much love to Sam Grant for putting this video together and Eddie Colla for keeping me current.
Check out my 5 seconds of fame on The Green Scene’s visit to the Pop-Up Art Show “The Asylum” during Oakland’s Art Murmur on May 3, 2013. 30 artists were given one room to do as they please in a Downtown Oakland office building. The event’s second day was canceled because of the HUGE turnout during opening night. Check back for pictures of this amazing and super fun event.
This Friday, Feb.1st in Jack London Square, I will be apart of an interactive group show during Oakland’s Art Murmur. 7 artists will display line drawings with color codes and invite the public to complete their paintings during the opening reception. Please join me and my friends for some creative fun at lOAKal and remember to wear your creative wears because its gonna get messy!
Slap this on a post it note: Saturday December 1st. “Carpe Diem” Oakland, CA.
I am honored to be apart of an ALL-STAR crew at lOAKal in Oakland for “Carpe Diem”. 10 artists will get crafty for 24 hours and our finished work will be on display at First Fridays the following week, December 7th. If you were ever curious about how all the good stuff happens on canvas, this is a great opportunity to get cozy with the talent. I’d hate to describe this as “epic” (a totally overused hipster adjective) so I’ll just leave you with “I’m Just Say’n”…
A BIG thank you to all my friends who came out and supported the cause Friday night. I had an amazing time at both art shows and I am appreciative of having the oppotunity to show my art work along side many talented and creative peoples. Big ups to Paolo and Lower Branch for throwing a dope party in city. I hope we can do it again sooner than later. Happy Sunday funday folks!
This Friday, April 6th, join me and eight other talented local artists at the group show “Woakland Up“. If you have never been to Oakland’s First Friday Art walk before, it is a great opportunity to check out whats hot in the east bay contemporary art scene, meet new people, eat amazing food and support local artists like myself. Murmur is from 6pm-9pm and I will be hanging out at the Paradiso lounge till 11pm. Bring the good vibes and wear your drinking pants folks. Looking forward to this amazing night…
