“Tanuki” created for 24 hour Carpe Diem show. 4′ X 8′ Mixed Media on Wood Panel
During the past 2 weekends I was fortunate enough to be apart of the Carpe Diem show at Loakal in Oakland, CA. I had so much fun creating new artwork amongst so much talent and dope personalities. The gallery was open to the public all 24 hours of the painting day so that people could engage with the artists and observe their creative process. Here is a video taken on March 29th when each artist was given a 4′ X 8′ panel and 24 hours to complete their work. Much love to Sam Grant for putting this video together and Eddie Colla for keeping me current.
Slap this on a post it note: Saturday December 1st. “Carpe Diem” Oakland, CA.
I am honored to be apart of an ALL-STAR crew at lOAKal in Oakland for “Carpe Diem”. 10 artists will get crafty for 24 hours and our finished work will be on display at First Fridays the following week, December 7th. If you were ever curious about how all the good stuff happens on canvas, this is a great opportunity to get cozy with the talent. I’d hate to describe this as “epic” (a totally overused hipster adjective) so I’ll just leave you with “I’m Just Say’n”…
